WILLIAMS, PETER

Peter Williams, born 1979 in Chester. Studied 3 dimensional design furniture at Loughborough University. Questions we posed to Peter Williams for the Top Drawer Summer Show.

How would you describe your design style?

My design style is a natural progression which adapts to the changing needs and wants of everyday living.

What inspired you to design the Svelte?

The core of the Svelte design was originally focused around the actual functions of a product and the manufacturing process. My brief was to produce a storage design for the domestic interior that would have good functional qualities.

Where or what do you draw inspiration from?

I am inspired by the natural world, and within this area how form is a natural progression of the actual function of the creation.

Who is your favourite designer or designers?

My favourite designer is Le Corbusier - one of the most revolutionary architects in the twentieth century. Le Corbusier followed a close relationship with nature and his design ideas, which allowed him to create a new vision of society.
