Home > about & advice > Designers & Manufacturers > Macchioni, Sergio

Sergio Macchioni was born and lives in Italy.

Questions we posed to Sergio Macchioni for the Top Drawer Summer Show:

How would you describe your design style?
To be quite honest I wouldn't know what to say in a couple of words but I believe that I'm interested in the dimensions of playfulness and colour and that I am interested in the most varied and technological materials (currently I am working with LED and new plastic tiles).

What inspired you to design the Ombelico Lamp?
My inspiration for ombelico came from the use of buoys in order to create a useful and coloured lamp!

Where or what do you draw inspiration from?
Curves and water

Who is your favourite designer or designers?
Cesar Manrique di Lanzarote
