Bibendum chair - free delivery
In the early 1900s the Bibendum chair was designed by Eileen Gray but was largely forgotten until an original surfaced in a 1972 auction prompting a new production of this design classic.
It is an sumptuous interpretation of the modernist aesthetic and firmly holds its own alongside the work of van der Rohe and Corbusier,in the archives of great furniture design, who shunned Gray's artistic endeavours when alive.
The name Bibendum was penned by Gray herself who noted that the chair posessed many similar features to the character that Michelin used to advertise their tyres.
